Name released of man who died in Johnson Co., IL fire

JOHNSON COUNTY, IL (KFVS) -

An Illinois State Fire Marshal says a man died in an overnight fire at a home in Johnson County, Illinois.

According to the Johnson County Coroner's Office, that man has been identified as Larry Gene Littleton, Jr., 35, of New Burnside.

Dispatchers say they received multiple calls about the fire at the trailer in the 100 block of West 4th Street in New Burnside just after midnight on Monday, Dec. 21.

Fire crews from the New Burnside and Stonefort Fire Departments responded. When they arrived, firefighters say flames had engulfed the trailer.

As of 4 a.m., the state fire marshal was on scene investigating.

An autopsy for Littleton is scheduled for Tuesday, Dec. 22.

Funeral services will be held at the Bailey Funeral Home in Vienna, Ill.; however, arrangements are not finished at this time. You can click here for more information.

The cause of the fire is remains under investigation.
