Son to face 176 years after pleading guilty to killing parents

STE. GENEVIEVE COUNTY, MO (KFVS) -

Dallas "Tyler" Halter, one of four men charged with two second-degree murders as well as several other charges in 2014, was at the Saint Francois Courthouse Courtroom on Friday, Dec. 18.

According to Saint Francois County Prosecutor Jerrod Mahurin, Halter pleaded guilty to the charges of two second degree murders, armed criminal action, burglary, stealing a firearm, tampering with evidence, and arson.

Mahurin said Halter could serve up to 176 years in jail and won't be eligible for parole until he serves 86 years.

Halter, along with four others, was charged in the deaths of his parents and setting their house on fire back in 2014.

Halter is being held in the Ste. Genevieve County Jail.
