HICKORY, KY (KFVS) -

The Kentucky State Police Professional Association (KSPPA) District 1 held it’s annual “Shop with a Trooper” (S.W.AT.) program on Thursday, Dec. 17.

The program is designed to help children in need during the Christmas season.

92 children, along with their families and more than one hundred volunteers from KSP Troopers, KSP CVE Officers, KSP dispatchers, KSP family members, Mayfield City Police Department, Northside Baptist Christian School, Northside Baptist Church and the Mayfield Lions helped with the event.

Pizza was provided to everyone courtesy of Papa John’s Lone Oak store.

After the dinner, volunteers helped the children in their shopping at the Walmart in Mayfield.

KSPPA District 1 wishes to thank all of the private and corporate donors who helped make the event possible.
