Holcomb R-III gets money to replace, retrofit old school buses

HOLCOMB, MO (KFVS) -

The Holcomb R-III School District is one of five in the state of Missouri that will get money to replace or retrofit older diesel school buses.

The Environmental Protection Agency is handing out $7 million in rebates nationwide to school bus fleets in 35 states.

The new and retrofitted buses will reduce pollutants such as nitrogen oxides and particulate matter that are linked to health problems including asthma and lung damage.

Holcomb will split $230,000 with school districts in Bethany, Winston, Creighton and Blue Springs Missouri.
