JACKSON, MO (KFVS) -

Two teachers in Jackson, Missouri took the Elf on the Shelf trend to the next level.

Emily Thomas and Miranda Schlosser, both kindergarten teachers, dressed up as real-life Elves on the Shelf for Christmas Spirit Day at Immaculate Conception School.

Thomas said they sat in the hallway, frozen for 20 minutes, as the students filed into the classroom.

"They were shocked to see their teachers as real elves on the shelf," Thomas said.

Their elf names? Jingle and Bells.

Throughout the day, the mischievous elves Jingle and Bells got into other teachers' stuff and played tricks on their students.

While they may have been naughty, other students and teachers at the school thought it was a nice show of Christmas spirit.
