MCCRACKEN COUNTY, KY (KFVS) -

The McCracken County Sheriff's Department announced that five people have been arrested during four separate incidents on Tuesday, Dec. 15.

The charges range from traffic violations to DUI to drug violations.

At approximately 1:00 p.m. on Dec. 15, detectives with the Graves County Sheriff’s Office notified the McCracken County Sheriff’s Department that a suspect in an unauthorized use of motor vehicle incident was traveling in Paducah, Kentucky.

With the assistance of Graves County personnel, McCracken detectives stopped the vehicle on South 28 Street and located Jennifer Roper, of Paducah.

Roper was found to be under the influence of drugs or alcohol and was arrested. She was also operating the vehicle with no insurance and her license was suspended. While she was being held in the McCracken County Jail for multiple offenses (including the original unauthorized use of a motor vehicle), doses of prescription medication were located in King’s undergarments.

She was ultimately charged with DUI 4th or subsequent offense, no insurance, operating on suspended license, no registration, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and promoting contraband for taking the concealed medication into the jail.

In a separate incident, probation and parole officers asked for assistance in searching a residence at 206 Glenn Street. While searching the home, deputies located multiple baggies of marijuana, marijuana paraphernalia, a handgun and U.S. currency which is believed to be proceeds from illegal drug sales. Thomas Talley, 24, of Paducah, was charged with firearm enhanced trafficking marijuana, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

At approximately 2:29 p.m., deputies noticed a vehicle in the Littleville area being driven by Joseph Clark, 24, of Paducah, who deputies knew to have outstanding arrest warrants.

Deputy Latta stopped the vehicle and during the investigation he located a quantity of methamphetamine on Clark. In continuing the investigation, detectives learned that the passenger, Karlee Potter 20 of Paducah, had concealed two plastic baggies of methamphetamine in her pants. Prescription medication and drug paraphernalia were also located in Potter’s purse. At the end of the investigation, it was determined that Potter and Clark intended to sell the methamphetamine that Potter possessed.

In an effort to destroy evidence of illegal drug activity, Potter also attempted to erase her cell phone. She was charged with trafficking methamphetamine over two grams, possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia and two counts of tampering with physical evidence.

Clark was charged with complicity to trafficking meth and possession of meth.

Both were taken to the McCracken County Jail.

In following up with other investigations, detectives from the McCracken County Sheriff’s Department Drug Division executed a search warrant at 2823 Tennessee in Paducah, Kentucky at approximately 9:00 p.m. Detectives searched the residence and ultimately arrested Nicholas McLeod, 24, of Paducah for possession of meth, possession of synthetic drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia.

McLeod was taken to the McCracken County Jail.

Individuals with information pertaining to illegal drug crimes are asked to call the McCracken County Sheriff’s Department Drug Division directly at 270-448-1516 or 270-444-5157.
