MCCRACKEN COUNTY, KY (KFVS) -

A welfare check in McCracken County, Kentucky led to an arrest for methamphetamine.

Zachary A. Bonn, 23, of Paducah, was arrested on an outstanding warrant for failure to appear and first degree, first offense possession of a controlled substance.

According to deputies with the McCracken County Sheriff's Department, they responded to the welfare check in the 4000 block of Clinton Road.

When they arrived, deputies say they saw a man behind the wheel of a vehicle and unresponsive.

Deputies say they eventually were able to talk to the man, identified as Bonn.

They say they saw a white, powdery substance, consistent with meth, allegedly in plain view on the center console.

Bonn was taken to an area hospital as a precaution for possible exposure to cool temperatures.

He was arrested after his release from the hospital.
