UNDER INVESTIGATION: Piedmont woman killed in crash

JEFFERSON COUNTY, MO (KFVS) -

A two-vehicle crash in Jefferson County, Missouri kills a Piedmont woman on Tuesday.

It happened in the northbound lanes of Interstate 55, just south of McNutt Road around 11:14 a.m.

According to the Missouri Highway Patrol, 29-year-old Zachery Morton, of House Springs, Mo., began to change lanes and due to an unknown sequence of events, this caused the truck of 50-year-old Lisa Merideth to flip.

Merideth was thrown from the truck.

She was taken by an ambulance to Mercy Hospital Jefferson in Festus where she died shortly after arrival.

Troopers report that Merideth was not wearing a seat belt.

Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
