Secret Santa helps bring a Merry Christmas to Dunklin Co. family

A Secret Santa in Willow Springs, Missouri made it possible for a Dunklin County family to have a Merry Christmas.

Stephanie Rushton saw a post on Facebook. It was a man from more than 150 miles away offering to help anyone who needed it.

She sent him a message and told him she knows a family with three children who, without help, wouldn't have anything to open Christmas morning.

To her surprise, the man was quick to agree. He went to the store and purchased clothes and toys for the three kids and even shipped them right to her front door.

Stephanie said it’s good to know there are still good people who care enough to help strangers.

"It really touches my heart, knowing that, with all the evil that's going on around, and for someone to work so hard and spend their money when they have kids of their own and help the ones that really, really need it, it's really heartwarming,” Rushton said. “It's really going to help them. They're going to have three happy kids this year."

Stephanie said many people responded to the man's post, which was put out on the West Plains Facebook Yard sale site.

She said it's gestures like this that encourage all of us to help others this Christmas season.
