Murphysboro man dies in crash on IL North 127

MURPHYSBORO, IL (KFVS) -

A Murphysboro, Illinois man died in a crash on Illinois North 127 on Saturday, December 12.

According to Illinois State Police, a driver reported a car off the road at around 7:18 a.m. on Saturday.

Police say the vehicle, a red Hyundai Accent was going northbound on Illinois Route 127, about a half-mile north of Aldridge Road in Union County, when it failed to make a curve and hit a tree.

According to police the driver, 25-year-old Demarcus R. Huddleston, was thrown from the car. He was not wearing a seat belt.

They say the exact time of the crash is unknown. It was discovered on Saturday morning.

Police say the suspect the crash was alcohol related, but the investigation is ongoing.
