Ziegler Christmas Market Collects Donations

ZIEGLER, IL (KFVS) -

Dozens got in the holiday spirit in Ziegler on Saturday in an effort to give food and winter coats to area kids.

Folks browsed everything from candied almonds, to hand-made soaps composed of goat milk.

 Roughly 45 vendors showed up.

“We’ve had so many businesses come and go all over this area because of a lack of support.” Organizer Chenique King explained at the event. “If we could just get out and support one-another, then we’ll be able to sustain.”

Used coats, canned goods, and cash donations were also collected at the event as part of Ziegler Shop with a Cop.

“We’re here to show the community how much we care, as the spouses of first responders and police officers and firefighters.” King said. “We really do care about the communities that they are taking care of and supporting.”

Ziegler Police plan to deliver the donations local families sometime this week

The event is in its first year.
