GRAVES COUNTY, KY (KFVS) -

Sedalia first grade students recently held a “wedding” for the letters "Q" and "U."

The students learned about the sounds associated with those letters and the fact that a “Q” always is followed in words by its partner “U.”

The first graders have been learning to spell "QU" words such as quiz, quick and quit.

They also took the opportunity of the wedding to discuss good manners to use on such a special occasion.

Of course, a reception with cake and punch followed, where students showed off their latest dance moves in celebration.

Luke Jones and Payton Ryan are shown here, walking down the aisle together as "Q" and "U."
