PADUCAH, KY (KFVS) -

Paducah police are seeking the public’s help in identifying a man suspected of taking cash from another man’s wallet last weekend at the Walmart on Hinkleville Road in Paducah.

Blake Lynch of Brookport, Ill., told police he was shopping in the electronics department about 5 p.m. Saturday, and laid his wallet on top of items in a cart while he was looking at other merchandise.

Surveillance video shows that while Lynch was away from the cart, a man moved it, causing the wallet to fall.

The man picked the wallet up, looked through it and put it back onto the cart.

He then pushed the cart away.

When the wallet was located, $250 in cash was missing.

The male was located on surveillance video a short time later, purchasing a large television and paying with cash.

The man is thought to be of Hispanic ethnicity.

Anyone with information about the man’s identity is asked to call the Paducah Police Department at 270/444-8550 or Crime Stoppers at 443-TELL. Tipsters also may access the online tip form through the City of Paducah website here.
