McCracken Co. deputies respond to two-vehicle injury accident

MCCRACKEN COUNTY, KY (KFVS) -

The McCracken County Sheriff’s Office responded to an injury accident on Interstate 24 eastbound on Wednesday, Dec. 9 at 5:54 a.m.

Michael Torres, 48, of Hickory, Kentucky, was driving eastbound in the right lane on I-24 when he rear-ended Barbara Sledd, 56, of Kevil, Kentucky.

Sledd’s vehicle went off the right shoulder after the impact and stopped down in a grassy area while Torres’ vehicle overturned off the left shoulder of I-24.

Torres was transported to Lourdes Hospital by Mercy EMS. Sledd and her passenger Joe Sledd, 47, of Kevil, Kentucky were transported to Baptist Health by Mercy EMS.

The Reidland-Farley Fire Department assisted at the scene, as well as Stinnet’s Towing, VanZant’s Towing and Kentucky Safe Patrol.

The eastbound lanes of I-24 were shut down for approximately 45 minutes until the accident was cleaned up.
