CALLOWAY COUNTY, KY (KFVS) -

The Calloway County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a motor vehicle collision involving a vehicle that had rolled over with possible injuries on Crossland Road near Mitchell Story Road on Tuesday, Dec. 8, at approximately at 10:46 a.m.

Murray Calloway County EMS and Calloway County Fire-Rescue were dispatched along with deputies.

Upon arrival Captain Richard Steen found a Peterbilt dump truck on its side and confirmed that the driver was trapped in his vehicle.

Dewey Lockman, 71, of Eddyville, was rescued from the vehicle and transported to a hospital by EMS for his injuries.

The initial investigation shows that the driver was heading northbound on Crossland Road when the right side tires dropped off of the roadway.

Lockman then tried to overcorrect, crossing the roadway and dropping off of the opposite shoulder, at which point the truck rolled over on the driver’s side and came to rest in roadway.

Emergency Management and Kentucky State Highway also assisted at the scene.
