Dense fog causes Scott Co. school delay

Kelly Schools in Scott County, Mo. will start class two hours later on Dec. 8.

School administrators say the delay is caused by thick fog in the area.

According to First Alert Meteorologist Brian Alworth, many Heartland communities should be prepared to see patchy fog on their way out the door Tuesday morning.

The National Weather Service issued a dense fog advisory until 7 a.m

Drivers should expect visibility to be less than a mile wide with some areas seeing less than a quarter mile.

In some areas, freezing fog could cause slick patches on roads.

The National Weather Service is encouraging drivers to slow down.
