Nearly 800 SEMO students to receive degrees

CAPE GIRARDEAU, MO (KFVS) -

773 Southeast Missouri State University students will receive degrees during the commencement ceremony being held at the Show Me Center on December 19 at 2 p.m.

The commencement address will be delivered by Dr. Warren Anderson, a professor in the Department of Global Cultures and Languages at Southeast. Dr. Anderson has been at the university since 1998 where he has published and presented regionally, nationally and internationally in the areas of migration, indigenous identity and language use and on medical education reform.

An Honors Convocation will be held prior to the commencement ceremony at 10:30 a.m.to honor 185 undergraduates.

Dr. Stephen Hoffman will present the Honors Convocation.

Hoffman is the 2015 recipient of the PRIDE Award, which recognizes a faculty member who has demonstrated excellence as a teacher, an extraordinary level of scholarship and service and whose overall accomplishments are especially noteworthy.
