First Alert: Watch out for fog; sweater weather by the afternoon

It is Monday, Dec. 7, 2015.

First Alert Weather Outlook:

Your Monday morning will start out cool and mostly dry. Be on the lookout though, for patchy fog in some areas. A few northern Heartland counties are on under a fog advisory. Make sure you grab the jacket on your way out the door. Highs are only expected to reach the low 50s.

Making Headlines:

Search continues: Authorities are searching for two inmates considered armed and dangerous in Pope County, Ill. The men were last seen on Franks Road. The Pope County Sheriff is warning residents to be on the lookout for any suspicious behavior this morning.

In custody: A man is behind bars in connection to a homicide investigation in Wayne County, Ill. William Johnson was arrested in Williamson County, Ill. after a man was killed at a home Saturday evening.

Shots fired: Police in Paducah, Ky. are investigating a shooting that occurred on Sunday, Dec. 6. Det. Sgt. Anthony Copeland said an initial investigation showed several people were involved in an altercation in the street, and a number of shots were fired.

Under investigation: The Justice Department is set to launch a pattern-and-practice investigation of Chicago’s police department similar to the inquiry conducted in Ferguson, Mo. This comes after the shooting death of Laquan McDonald.
