Firefighter training held in Paducah, KY

PADUCAH, KY (KFVS) -

Firefighters know how to do their jobs, but a refresher course never hurts.

That's what a training course was about in Paducah, Kentucky on Friday, Dec. 4.

"It's been eye-opening, it's been educational and we know how to do things safer," Captain Barry Carter with the Paducah Fire Department said. "What we're promoting is safety so that if we have to go out and do one of these rescues our members know what to do to be safe to protect themselves and the public too."

Firefighters learned things like how to plan on fighting fires in small spaces, along with things like potential hazards and ventilation procedures.
