Steele, MO man arrested, facing domestic assault and drug charges

STEELE, MO (KFVS) -

A Steele, Missouri man was arrested Thursday and is facing charges ranging from domestic assault to drug possession.

Steele Police Chief Billy Joe Stanfield reported Thursday that his officers were contacted by a woman saying she had been physically assaulted by her boyfriend.

During the investigation Steele Police and Pemiscot County Deputies made contact with Nicholas Burton, 34, of Steele, to question him about the alleged assault.

Burton was found to be in possession of a plastic baggie containing what looked to be methamphetamine, and a glass pipe commonly used in smoking methamphetamine. 

Officers searched his home and allegedly discovered marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

Burton was arrested by officers and taken to the Pemiscot County Jail.

Burton was charged with domestic assault 2nd degree - prior domestic violence offender, endangering the welfare of a child, creating substantial risk, felonious restraint and possession of a controlled substance.

Bond was set at $100,000.
