2 arrested in Steele, MO after search warrant served at home

STEELE, MO (KFVS) -

Two people were arrested after a federal search warrant was issued at a Steele, Missouri home.

Steven Darius Thomas, 30, and Laura Meyers, 32, both of Steele, were charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute.

They are both being held at the Pemiscot County Jail. Thomas' bond was set at $100,000 and Meyers' bond was set at $50,000.

According to the Steele Police Department, they served a federal search warrant at a house on Bates Street, along with Pemiscot County deputies and federal agents with the Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco Firearms and Explosives.

Police say the search warrant was issued after a joint investigation with ATF and the Pemiscot County Sheriff's Department.

While executing the search warrant, police say they found a "substantial amount of purported methamphetamine."
