Strange behavior tip leads to 3 drug arrests in Graves Co.

GRAVES COUNTY, KY (KFVS) -

The Graves County Sheriff's Office reports three people are behind bars after a late night search led to the discovery of drugs and firearms.

Officers were dispatched to New Hope Church Road in response to a call about a man walking around with a gun pointed to his head.

When deputies got there, they found 46-year-old John Willoughby. When officers were making sure he did not have a weapon, the sheriff's office reports Willoughby three a small container into the grass near him.

The K9 located methamphetamine.

Deputies later served a warrant to search the home where Willoughby had been staying.

During the investigation, officers found methamphetamine, marijuana and other narcotic drugs on the property, in addition to several firearms and drug paraphernalia.

The sheriff's office reports officers also found a large amount of cash believed to be proceeds of illegal drug sales and several firearms including assault rifles and handguns.

During the search of the home, officers located small children in the same room as glass pipes that contained methamphetamine.

In addition to Willoughby, two other people were arrested after the search including 28-year-old Jessica Shelbourne and 35-year-old Colby Mitchell.

They are each facing the following charges:

  • Colby Mitchell was charged with two counts of trafficking a controlled Substance in the first degree, possession of a firearm and handgun by convicted felon, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and endangering the welfare of a minor.
  • John Willoughby was charged with possession of a controlled substance first degree, tampering with physical evidence and possession of drug paraphernalia.
  • Jessica Shellbourne was charged with trafficking a controlled substance in the first degree, possession of marijuana, and endangering the welfare of a minor.

All three of the suspects are being held at the Graves County Jail.
