This week in music: 1986

(KFVS) -

Let's head back to the golden days of MTV and the music of 1980's.

These were the songs sitting at the top of Billboard's Hot 100 this week in 1986.

At number five was Huey Lewis and the News with Hip to be Square.

At number four was The Next Time I Fall. The duet featured former Chicago singer Peter Cetera and Contemporary Christian singer Amy Grant.

In the number three spot was Madonna with True Blue, a song dealing with the material girl's feelings for her husband at the time, Sean Penn.

The British band The Human League held down the number two spot with Human, a song about mistakes and forgiveness.

And in the top spot was Bon Jovi with their very first number one hit. You Give Love A Bad Name was originally written for Bonnie Tyler, but Jon Bon Jovi and  Richie Sambora rewrote the lyrics and took it to the top of the charts.
