This year's "I Lost a Child" Memorial Tree Service is scheduled to be held on Sunday, Dec. 6th at Memorial Hospital of Carbondale.
The "ILAC" support group was created more than 35 years ago to offer help and consolation to families who have lost a child or children through a variety of unfortunate circumstances.
For many families, this loss can add a sense of sadness and longing to the holiday season, and the "ILAC" Memorial Tree service is dedicated every year to these families and the hardships they go through around the holidays.
The service will be held at 1:30 pm in conference room C of Memorial Hospital of Carbondale, where families will be able to hang an ornament on the tree in memory of their lost child or children.
Families can also hang their ornaments ahead of time, beginning on Monday, Nov. 30th, according to OB Perinatal Coordinator Angie Bowen.
For more information, you can contact Bowen by calling (618) 549-0721, Ext. 65252, or Jennifer Gilpin at (618) 549-0721, Ext. 64837.
