FIRST ALERT: Rain is moving into the Heartland; 2-4 inches expected

It is Friday, Nov. 27.

First Alert Weather Outlook:

If you’re out shopping early today you’ll notice it’s pretty mild for late November. But make sure you take your umbrella and maybe a warmer coat if you plan to stay out all day. Temperatures will drop this evening as rain pushes into the Heartland. The rain is expected to stick around for a while, making for a wet weekend. FIRST ALERT: Parts of the Heartland remain under a Flash Flood Watch through Saturday.

Making Headlines:

Under investigation: Authorities are investigating after hunters located the body of a Williamson County woman who disappeared on Saturday, Nov. 21. An autopsy is scheduled for today.

Protests continue: Demonstrators in Chicago are expected to disrupt Black Friday shopping with a march through the heart of the city's most famous retail district. Activists hope to bring attention to an investigation into the shooting death of a 17-year-old that some say was mishandled.

All clear: Everything is back to normal after the White House was placed on lockdown after someone jumped the fence. Security is especially important because the president and his family are actually at the White House today for Thanksgiving.

Super bowl of shopping: The official start to the holiday shopping season kicked off early in most places. The National Retail Federation expects 99.7 million people to shop on Black Friday.
