CAPE GIRARDEAU COUNTY, MO (KFVS) -

Two people have been arrested after police say a man was robbed and beat at a Cape Girardeau motel on Thursday, November 12.

Cape Girardeau police say they responded to the report just before 5 a.m.

Officer Spencer arrived on the scene first and said the victim told him he he had been robbed at the Town House Inn.

The victim told Officer Spencer that he had left The Pony, a strip club in McClure, Illinois, with Jeffery Dancy, 32, of Sparta Ill. when he began receiving text messages from Carlie McCauley, 24, of Du Quoin, Ill.

The victim said McCauley was providing prices for sexual intercourse and told him to meet her at the Town House Inn.

He said when he arrived to the room, Dancy was standing in the entry way door and punched him in the face multiple times. He said Dancy pinned him and held him down on the ground and stole his wallet.

Both suspects left the scene in a red Chevorlet Monte Carlo with Illinois plates.

Both the victim and the clerk working at the inn were able to provide descriptions of the suspects and the car that they were driving.

Police said on Nov. 16 they found the car at the Town House Inn. When the suspects were spotted entering the car, police pulled them over.

Both Dancy and McCauley were arrested and charged with robbery and felonious restraint.

When police interviewed Dancy, he admitted to pinning the victim on the ground and assaulting him.

Both suspects were being held at the Cape Girardeau County Sheriff’s Office.
