Sheriff's Office: Woman causes scene at restaurant after wanting to cook for boyfriend

CHARLESTON, MO (KFVS) -

A Mound City, Ill. woman faces felony drug charges out of Mississippi Co., Mo. after a woman created a scene in a restaurant.

Police say it all started when Tiffany LeAnne Bennett, 27, went to a restaurant in Charleston, Mo. Sunday morning to turn in an application.

Deputies say she wanted to cook breakfast for her boyfriend.

Police suspected she was under the influence of illegal drugs after talking with her.

She gave police permission to search her purse. Police found narcotics and drug paraphernalia items

Bennett had a friend drive her to Charleston. Police found more narcotics in her friend's vehicle.  However, the driver of the vehicle was did not know about the illegal items inside the vehicle.  

Bennett was taken to the Mississippi County Detention Center.  

Police found several more narcotics concealed on Bennett.

Tiffany LeAnne Bennett, 27, of Mound, City, Ill. is charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute, a class B felony.

She also faces charges of possession of a controlled substance and delivery of a controlled substance to a county jail, both class C felonies, and unlawful use of drug paraphernalia, a class A misdemeanor.

Bennett was in the Mississippi County Detention Center with bond set at $50,000.
