“Cram the Cruiser” underway in Kentucky


Kentucky State Police are holding their annual "Cram the Cruiser" to help collect non perishable food items for needy families during the Christmas holiday.

Anyone who wants to participate can drop off food at the Kentucky State Police Post 1 located at 8366 State Route, 45 North in Hickory.

If you can not make it to the Post 1 area, Kentucky State Police will also be collecting food from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the following locations:

  • November 24 at the Kroger store in Murray
  • November 25 at the Food Giant in Eddyville
  • November 27 at the Kroger store in Murray
  • November 30 at the Hancock’s Neighborhood Market in Cadiz
  • December 1 at the Kroger store in Murray
  • December 3  at the Wal-Mart Supercenter in Benton
  • December 7 at the Food Giant in Cadiz
  • December 8 at the Kroger store on Park Ave. in Paducah
  • December 9 at the Wal-Mart Supercenter on Hinkleville Rd. in Paducah
  • December 11 at the Kroger store in Murray

All of the non perishable items donated will be taken to local food pantries in the Post 1 area where it will be distributed to families in need.

According to Kentucky State Police, last year Post 1 collected 34,000 pounds of food during the 2014 "Cram the Cruiser" food drive.
