DONGOLA, IL (KFVS) -

Firefighters were called back to a house on southeast Front St. in Dongola on Monday evening, Nov. 23 after a hot spot flared up.

They originally responded to house fire early on Monday morning.

According to Union County dispatch, fire crews were called out to the home around 3:30 a.m.

The Anna Fire Department reports the fire was likely caused by a wood stove.

There were six people home when the fire started. However, the Anna Fire Department reports no one was injured.

The family tells KFVS the fire started around 2:30 a.m. but they tried to put it out before calling 911.

"Me and him tried to put it out but it just got worse and worse," Ronnie Seals said. "I'm just lucky everybody got out okay."

Both the Dongola and Anna fire departments were called out to the scene.
