TOY TESTERS: Second graders in Brookport, IL

BROOKPORT, IL (KFVS) -

The final stop of Does it Work: Toy Tester 2015 is Brookport where Ms. Hick’s second-graders took the toys through the wringer.

They tested the Avengers Iron Man gloves, the I DO 3-D pens art set, and the Robo-Fish.

Robo-Fish:

The testers say the fish is water-activated.

“You like put it in the water and it starts swimming around,” one child said.

The kids say it’s cool to look at but it doesn’t do much.

“On the box it said it swims around in five directions but it only swims in one,” one tester pointed out.

Plus, it drains the battery fast and sometimes it messes up.

“I don’t like that the tail can come off,” another boy said.

They say it looks kind of lonely with no fish friends.

“It only comes with one fish,” one student said.

You can keep buying fish to add to it, which the kids say would make it better.

These testers collectively give the Robo-Fish a "C."

I DO 3-D Pens Art Set:

The pens claim to create 3-D masterpieces.

“Does it do what you thought it would do?” KFVS Reporter Kadee Brosseau asked.

“No,” the girls answered.

It’s certainly not as easy as it looks on the box. If your art it’s too thin, it’ll break. If it’s too thick, well, that’s another problem.

“When you try to dry, it takes forever, and it’s really messy,” one tester said.

“If this was something at home, it would need to be done in a very contained area unless you want it all over your house,” teacher Beverly Hicks said.

The girls say the mess isn’t worth it.

“It takes a long time to like get the colors out because it’s so hard to push on it,” one girl said.

“If it gets on your hands it says you’ll get a rash,” another child said.

Plus, only comes with three pens.

“Only green, red and yellow,” one student explained.

In the end, the I Do 3-D only left these young artists feeling frustrated. This toy gets a "C" from these toy testers.

Avengers Iron Man Gloves:

It’s a toy that may make your little super hero’s eyes light-up. The Avengers-fan toy testers, say the Iron Man gloves are pretty cool.

“It’s like you’re wearing the real iron man suit,” one boy said.

“You can like act like you’re the real guy,” another student said.

There are some downsides to keep in mind.

“One of them doesn’t light up and it doesn’t make noise,” one toy tester points out.

Don’t let the strategic packaging fool you; one glove is definitely more exciting than the other.

“The boys played with it for just a very few minutes and then they sort of got bored with it,” Ms. Hicks said.

Overall, the boys decided to give the iron man gloves a "C."
