TOY TESTERS: Tri-C Elementary in Carterville, IL

CARTERVILLE, IL (KFVS) -

Ms. Mason’s first-graders at Tri-C Elementary in Carterville tested the My Little Pony Playdough Make N’ Style Ponies, the Lego City Space set, the Ninja Turtles Mutations action figure, and the funny and messy game Pie Face.

My Little Pony Playdough Make N’ Style Ponies:

“I’m making Celestia and her cutie mark is on the bottom of her,” one toy-tester said.

You pick your character and mold out shapes and designs to dress it up.

“It’s going to be its hair,” another girl said.

However, there are some problems.

“When you like push it through the rest of the play-dough some of it gets stuck in it,” another child said.

Plus, the colors mix together. Still, these My Little Pony fans give this toy all "A's."

Ninja Turtles Mutations action figure:

“You have to flick it like that,” one boy said as he demonstrated the toy.

This action figure is Rafael from the Mutations collection.

“He can shoot wherever he wants to and this is how he goes in,” another child said.

The boys were all about this mix and match ninja turtle.

“They like that it came with two different shells. So they didn’t have just one option, they could switch it for how they wanted it and they also of course liked the missiles that they could shoot,” Ms. Caroline Mason said.

Even though it takes a bit to figure it out, they say it’s all part of the fun.

“When we were first testing it out, it was hard to get on,” one boy said.

Rafael received mostly "A’s."

Lego City Space set:

“We’re working on the Rover,” one toy-tester said.

These highly skilled Lego mechanics say this set is a good one.

“Just finished the car,” one child said.

“That it has a lot of pieces,” said another student.

It got a thumbs up all around.

“I would probably give it an 'A' too, because I like Legos a lot,” one boy said.

Pie Face Game:

It’s a family board game with a silly side.

“It tastes so yummy,” one toy-tester said.

“It’s delicious!” another child said.

Pie Face is a game for those with a sweet tooth, but watch out, it’s got a sneaky side.

“I’m kind of scared,” one girl said.

The kids like the idea of Pie Face unless, of course, the person getting pied is you.

“It was too messy,” one boy said.

“I’m not doing it,” another student said.

Overall, most kids give the game an "A."

However, when it comes down to it, players would rather pass on the pie.

“I don’t like when it gets in my nose,” one girl said.

The consensus was clear in Ms. Beers' third grade class at Jefferson Elementary, the Fingerlings baby monkey is a toy they want.
