This week in music: 1981

(KFVS) -

Let's turn back the clock and check out the music scene from 34 years ago.

Billboard magazine had these songs at the top of the Hot 100 this week in 1981.

At number five was the soft rock duo Air Supply with their hit "Here I Am."

The Rolling Stones were in the number 4 spot with a song that was originally recorded in 1978. "Start Me Up" didn't make the cut for the album Some Girls and was put into the band's music vault. It was dug out for their '81 tour for their album Tattoo You.

At number three was a song that would later spend a record 10 weeks at number two. "Waiting For a Girl Like You" by Foreigner could never quite move into the top spot, but it's one of the band's most popular hits.

Hall and Oates was at number two with "Private Eyes." You remember the video to that one. It had the duo dressed as detective.

And at number one was "Physical" by Olivia Newton-John. It stayed in the top spot for ten straight weeks and Billboard ranks it as the number one hit of the 1980s. Billboard even ranks it number 6 on its all time top 100 list.
