SCOTT COUNTY, MO (KFVS) -

Scott County Sheriff Rick Walter wants to warn Facebook users to be cautious of accepting friend requests from people they do not know.

It has been reported to the Scott County Sheriff's Office that a person posing as a young female is requesting males to add her as a friend.

She is reportedly enticing men to perform indecent acts online using videos and photos.

In a ploy to blackmail, she will threaten to publicly post the videos or photos online, or will photoshop the victims faces on other nude videos or photos unless large amounts of money are paid.

If you have any information on this scam or know of anyone involved, please contact the Scott County Sheriff's Office at (573)-545-3525.
