Overnight fire destroys Cape Girardeau County home

CAPE GIRARDEAU COUNTY, MO (KFVS) -

An early morning fire destroyed a southern Cape Girardeau, Missouri home Tuesday.

The call went out at 1:45 a.m. to the home at the intersection of Highway P and County Road 272 in the community of Randles, just south of Delta.

Fire crews from Delta, Advance, Oran and Whitewater responded to the fire.

When they arrived the house was engulfed in flames.

Firefighters say no one lived inside the house. Its owners live in a trailer behind it.

Fire destroyed the structure beyond repair.

Investigators are still looking in to what may have started the fire.
