Kentucky State Police investigating injury-collision involving a deer

CRITTENDEN COUNTY, KY (KFVS) -

The Kentucky State Police is investigating an injury-collision that occurred in the 3600 block of US 60 on Sunday, Nov. 15 around 10:55 p.m.

A preliminary investigation revealed that a passenger car was traveling east on US 60 when it struck a deer, causing it to become airborne.

As the deer was in the air, it struck a 1996 Dodge Ram that was traveling west on US 60.

The deer made entry into the cab of the truck, injuring the driver, Chad A. Jackson, 21, of Marion.

Jackson was transported by ambulance to Crittenden Health Systems.

He was then flown to Deaconess Hospital in Evansville, Indiana for treatment.

The driver of the passenger car was not injured.

Trooper Daniel Holland is investigating the collision.

Crittenden County EMS, Constable Billy Arflac and the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet all assisted at the scene.
