KY 303 in Graves Co. reopens after semi carrying lumber crashes

GRAVES COUNTY, KY (KFVS) -

The Graves County Sheriff's Office says KY 303 has reopened after a semi carrying lumber crashed Monday morning.

The crash happened near Luther Road at about the 7.74 mile marker just north of Cuba at around 7:10 a.m.

The investigation determined that Joseph L. Scott, 38 of Ozark, Alabama, was driving southbound on KY 303 when he dropped off of the right shoulder of the roadway. After dropping off of the roadway, Scott continued southbound but was unable to bring the fully loaded semi-truck and trailer back under control.

The semi and trailer rolled over onto its passenger side and then rolled over onto its top, coming to rest in the road ditch.

Scott was transported to Jackson Purchase Medical Center by Mayfield/Graves County EMS for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

The crash tied up traffic for awhile on State Route 303 in Graves County.

The roadway did close at one point to allow the load of lumber to be removed and the truck to be recovered.

The Graves County Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet.
