CARBONDALE, IL (KFVS) -

The Carbondale Town Square will host a candlelight vigil on Sunday, Nov. 15 at 6:00 p.m. to honor the victims of the deadly attacks in Paris.

Those who plan to attend should gather at the Town Square Pavilion at 6:00 p.m. in silence to stand together to show support for the victims.

Coordinators of the event say this is a chance to take a stand against violence and fear.

The event is family-friendly, and all are welcome and encouraged to attend.

Coordinators want to remind those in attendance to be peaceful and respectful. The vigil will be silent and those who plan to attend need to bring their own candle.

Also, coordinators wish to stress the event is not a demonstration and ask that no political or religious displays be present.
