SCOTT COUNTY, MO (KFVS) -

Scott County Sheriff Rick Walter reports that Dawn C. Faltz, 38, of Sikeston, Missouri has been arrested on felony charges of tampering with a motor vehicle.

Walter said that on Saturday, Nov. 14, deputies responded to County Highway 371 and State Highway O in Stoddard County. The deputies were advised a vehicle had just been stolen from the Oran Mini Mart, and that it had been located in Stoddard County.

Deputies arrived and were advised that Faltz had been operating the stolen vehicle.

Deputies spoke with the owner of the vehicle who told police he had parked his vehicle at the Oran Mini Mart and went across the street for a moment. The victim stated when he returned the vehicle had been stolen.

The victim told police he never gave Faltz permission to take the vehicle.

Faltz admitted to taking the vehicle from the Oran Mini Mart and was placed under arrest.

She was transported to the Scott County jail pending the filing of formal charges by the Scott County Prosecuting Attorney.

She remains in custody at the Scott County Jail.

Bond was set by the court at $10,000.00 cash or surety and no contact with the victim.
