The Community Caring Council and several other social service providers will be acknowledging National Hunger and Awareness Week from Nov. 14 though Nov. 22.

An awareness display will be at Cape West Cine through Nov. 30.

The mayor of Cape Girardeau will be present on Nov. 16 at 2 p.m. at Cape West Cine to give a proclamation acknowledging National Hunger and Homeless Awareness Week.

The display intends to provide awareness of the issues of hunger and homelessness in our local communities.

The display will also include a "Giving Tree."

People can choose a "giving tag" from the tree and donate suggested items to provide relief to an individual or family in crisis.
