IL truck driver fails to negotiate curve, tips over grain trailer

WHITE COUNTY, IL (KFVS) -

An Illinois man was taken to an Indiana hospital after he failed to negotiate a curve while driving a semi truck, tipping it over.

Officials say Joshua K. Cronin, 30, of Carmi, Ill., was driving a 2004 Sterling Truck Tractor eastbound on White County Road 1380N at White County Road 1450E, when he failed to negotiate a curve in the roadway.

The vehicle overturned on the east shoulder of White County Road 1450E, spilling part of his load of grain.

Cronin was transported from the crash scene to a hospital in Evansville, Indiana.

The truck and trailer had to be towed from the scene.

ISP District 19 was assisted at the crash scene by the White County Sheriff’s Department, White County Ambulance Service, and Carmi Fire Department.

In addition, an Illinois State Police Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Officer (C.V.E.O.) has been assigned to the investigation.
