CAPE GIRARDEAU, MO (KFVS) -

A Cape Girardeau K-9 officer and his partner were definitely at the right place at the right time on Tuesday, Nov. 10.

K-9 Officer Roy Rahn and his partner, Reno, were on routine patrol in the 800-block of South Sprigg when, around 3:45 p.m., Officer Rahn observed a male subject walking down a sidewalk. The subject was reportedly exhibiting classic signs of having a seizure.

The subject collapsed before Officer Rahn could exit his patrol unit, but he was able to position the male subject to his side and radio for medical assistance.

The Cape Girardeau Police Department issued a statement on its Facebook page saying they are thankful an officer was "at the right place at the right time" to help the man.

The department extends its prayers and hopes for a full recovery for the man.
