Poplar Bluff’s students will benefit from two wheelchairs donated by the John J. Pershing VA Medical Center.

The school nursing staff says the chairs will come in handy in emergency situations.

Angela Smith, the medical center’s public affairs officer says, “The John J. Pershing VA Medical Center takes pride in being a part of the Poplar Bluff community – one that has always been highly supportive of area veterans.  Therefore, when we received these donated wheelchairs that we could not utilize at our facility we were thankful to be able to offer them to the Poplar Bluff school system so that local children could benefit from their use.”

The donations will bring the number of wheelchairs in the school district to three.
