SCOTT CITY, MO (KFVS) -

A Cape Girardeau man faces several charges after police say several items were stolen from the Scott City Animal Clinic.

Barrett Hoover, 32, of Cape Girardeau is charged with two counts of burglary 2nd degree, stealing over $500, theft/stealing of any firearm, stealing under $500, and property damage 2nd degree, according to the Scott City Police Department.

The Scott City Animal Clinic was burglarized on Nov. 6. Officers discovered that someone entered the business through a window.

Workers told officers that medication, money, a tranquilizer gun, a St. Louis Rams jacket, and other miscellaneous items were missing.

Security camera footage caught a white man entering the business on two separate occasions on the nights of Nov. 5 and 6.

Police received a tip that the suspect might have been in a Jackson, Mo. business and Hoover was identified as the suspect.

Hoover returned to the Jackson business on Nov. 7.

Jackson police officers were called. Police say Hoover resisted arrest and led Jackson officers on a foot chase.

Hoover was captured and taken into custody.

Hoover’s vehicle was towed and searched. Police found many of the items identified as stolen from Scott City Animal Clinic in Hoover's vehicle.
