2-year-old boy seriously injured in crash near Ellsinore

ELLSINORE, MO (KFVS) -

A 2-year-old boy was seriously injured in a crash Monday afternoon near Ellsinore on Highway 60.

Matthew J. Maxwell, 25, of Grandin was driving a 2001 Chevy Blazer on Hwy. 60 when he swerved and struck a 2010 Dodge Charger driven by Kristina R. Bowlby, 61, of Malden, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

The Charger lost control and overturned. The Blazer crossed the median, went off the left side of the road into a ditch, went airborne, and hit a parked car at someone's house.

A 2-year-old boy was taken to Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center with serious injuries. Then, he was flown to a children's hospital in St. Louis.

Tiffany D. Glover, 23, of Ellsinore was a passenger in the Blazer. She and Maxwell both had moderate injuries. They were taken to Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.

The 2-year-old, Glover, and Maxwell were not wearing a safety device, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
