Cape Girardeau car theft suspect taken into custody

CAPE GIRARDEAU, MO (KFVS) -

A Cape Girardeau, Missouri car theft suspect was taken into custody on Sunday, Nov. 22.

According to the Cape Girardeau Police Department, Jason Jungers was taken into custody on five warrants after they received information on his whereabouts.

Police have been looking for Jungers since earlier in November. He was wanted for an alleged car theft, after he ran from police.

Police say Jason Michael Jungers led officers on a vehicle pursuit Saturday and then ran away.

Officers tracked him through the LaCroix Trail woods before they say they lost track of him.

Jungers was wanted on an active warrant for vehicle theft and has pending charges for multiple traffic violations, failure to yield to an emergency vehicle, and resisting arrest.
