Man sentenced for selling heroin in Carbondale

JACKSON COUNTY, IL (KFVS) -

An undercover drug investigation sends a Chicago man to prison for six years.

According to Jackson County State’s Attorney Michael Carr, 33-year-old Marquan McGee pleaded guilty to two felony counts of unlawful delivery of a controlled substance.

According to Carr, officers with the Carbondale Police Department Drug Task Force conducted undercover operations in September 2014.

During the investigation, McGee sold heroin to a confidential source.

After serving six years in the Illinois Department of Corrections, McGee will serve a three year mandatory supervised release.
