GRAVES COUNTY, KY (KFVS) - Graves County High School's 2015 golf season came to a close recently and the annual banquet was held to recognize the many accomplishments of the team.
Both the boys' and girls' teams placed fourth in the regional tournament.
Individual successes were recognized as Jake Morgan's fourth place finish in the Paducah Tilghman Invitational, Dawson Fowler's fifth place finish in the Ballard Invitational, Blake Thomas' and Chandlor Seay's top ten finishes at Ballard, Dawson Fowler's third place finish in the Marshall County Invitational, and Dawson Fowler's top eight finish at the regional tournament highlighted the season.
In girls' individual successes, Nicole Taylor led the team as she place twelfth at Marshall County, ninth at the Lady Eagle Invitational, and sixth at the regional tournament, which earned her a state tournament appearance.
These players were recognized at the banquet: Laney Shoulta (Courage Award), Neely Shoulta (110% Award), Nicole Taylor (MVP), Madison Myers (Eagle Award), Allyson Pritchard (Most Improved), Megan Dobrose (Newcomer Award), (back row) Coach Chuck Whitnell, Chandlor Seay (Eagle Award), Bryce Hayden (Most Improved), Dawson Fowler (MVP), Trevor Williams (Newcomer Award), Blake Thomas (Talon Award for Leadership), Jake Morgan (Courage Award), Josh Roy (110% Award), and Ryan Overby (Talon Award for Leadership).
These players received Golf Team Academic Awards for maintaining a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher: Nicole Taylor, Madison Myers, Laney Shoulta, Neely Shoulta, Megan Dobrose, Ryan Overby, Dawson Fowler, Trevor Williams, Josh Roy, and Pilar Fernandez (not pictured).
