Under investigation: A person suffered a gunshot wound during a shooting in Cape Girardeau overnight. The Cape Girardeau Police Department reports the incident spread across several downtown areas.
Conclusive results: Authorities are expected to announce that a northern Illinois police officer whose shooting death led to a massive manhunt in September killed himself.
New Governor: Matt Bevin (R) was named the winner of Kentucky governor's race. With all precincts reporting, Bevin led with 53 percent.. This will mark only the second Republican governor in four decades.
On hold: The execution of Missouri death row inmate Ernest Lee Johnson is on hold this morning. Johnson was convicted of beating three people to death, but claims the execution drug could cause painful seizures because he still has part of a benign tumor in his brain.
