EAST PRAIRIE, MO (KFVS) -

A Charleston, Missouri woman is facing drug charges after a crash on W. Washington and E. Highway 80 on Monday, November 2.

Lisa D. Fithen (Hinkle), 48, was charged with DWI persistent offender, driving while revoked, careless and imprudent driving resulting in an accident, possession of a controlled substance with the intent to distribute methamphetamine and unlawful use of drug paraphernalia.

According to East Prairie police, at about 11:35 a.m., they responded to a report of a two-vehicle crash.

Police say Fithen was driving a red Pontiac Grand Prix when she rear-ended a stopped vehicle trying to make a turn.

After the crash, Fithen allegedly got out of her car and ran across Hwy. 80 to McDonald's private property where she allegedly threw a small box underneath a shed building.

Police say she was in another vehicle awaiting medical treatment for her minor injuries when officers found her. They say witnesses on scene told them where the box was located.

In the box, police say they found about 4.8 grams of methamphetamine, a scale, items to package for distribution, some cash and several drug paraphernalia items.

Police say Fithen was previously charged and convicted of DWI on four different occasions and had a revoked driving status at the time of the crash.

They say both Fithen and the victim had minor injuries.

Fithen is awaiting transport to the Mississippi County Detention Center on a $75,000 cash or surety bond.
