2 injured in crash on IL Rte. 166 in Williamson Co.

WILLIAMSON COUNTY, IL (KFVS) -

Two people were injured in a crash on Illinois Route 166 at Shed Church Road in Williamson County, Illinois on Tuesday, November 3 at 7:18 a.m.

According to the Illinois State police preliminary report, a 2013 Cadillac driven by 25-year-old Erica S. Cadle, of Creal Springs, Ill., was going westbound on Shed Church Road. A 2010 Ford Edge driven by 63-year-old Mary J. Jahnssen, of Marion, Ill., was going northbound on Illinois Route 166.

Police say a dense fog covered the area at the time of the crash.

They say the Cadillac stopped at the stop sign and then proceeded into the intersection. Due to the fog, police say she was unable to see the approaching Ford.

According to police, the Ford hit the left front corner of the Cadillac.

Police say Cadle had major injuries and was taken to an area hospital by ambulance where she is considered in stable condition.

They say Jahnssen had minor injuries and was taken to an area hospital by ambulance.

Cadle was charged with failure to yield at a T-intersection.
